The Boulder Puppy Weekend Guide
Open space, off-leash adventures, and something sweet. Boulder weekends are made for getting outside with your dog. Here are a few favorite places to begin.
Chautauqua and Enchanted Mesa, for classic Flatirons views, shaded trails, and a true Boulder morning. Arrive early, the area becomes busy quickly.
Shanahan Ridge, a beautiful neighborhood trail system with open meadows, mountain views, and several routes for a longer adventure.
South Mesa, following the trail beside South Boulder Creek before climbing into open grasslands and foothill views. It is especially lovely in the quieter morning hours.
Marshall Mesa, where wide-open scenery and rolling trails make a good choice when you and your dog want room to move and explore.
Dogs may be off leash only on designated trails when both dog and guardian are registered in Boulder’s Voice and Sight Program and the dog displays a current tag. Regulations can change by trail or season, so always read the posted signs and check the City of Boulder dog regulations map before setting out.
After the walk, stop at Spruce Confections for coffee, a freshly baked treat, and water for the fur babies. It is a very Boulder way to end a morning outdoors, with tired paws, good coffee, and time together.
